As the new year begins, I’m excited to share an update about the new work I’m doing: launching PIPs Rewards, a nonprofit that helps young people succeed in achieving their educational and career goals. This is the most exciting thing I’ve done in many years of good work, and it is especially needed now. Let me know your thoughts! – Carrie
PARTNER HIGHLIGHT
Arizona Center for Youth Resources
We’re excited to launch this month with ACYR (Arizona Center for Youth Resources). Located in Phoenix, ACYR is an alternative public school for young people who dropped out of high school and are returning to school to earn their diploma. Completing high school will allow them to go to college and qualify for better jobs. ACYR’s seniors will get a boost this semester as they work to complete their studies. By logging key activities on the PIPs Rewards app — such as meeting with a counselor, passing a test, submitting their attendance log or more, they’ll earn PIPs (Positive Impact Points). PIPs can be redeemed for small yet meaningful rewards (such as a GED test fee or a gas card). The intent is for ACYR students who have struggled to succeed in school to become more engaged, achieve academic success, gain more confidence and experience how education can help them to identify and achieve their goals.
