Positive News: Encouraging Progress!

I’m happy to share the impact of PIPs Rewards on students served by our client partner, Arizona Center for Youth Resources (ACYR).

As highlighted in the article and video below, PIPs Rewards is leading to improved results in the classroom. It’s terrific to know that people are finding it easy and fun to use our platform, and that it is helping them achieve their goals.

Thank you to ACYR for learning with us, and for illustrating two of our organizational values: delight and access.

Q&A With Pedro

Carrie: Who are your students and how are you using PIPs Rewards with them?

Pedro: My students have enrolled at our Adult School to get their GED. They are mostly in their late teens and twenties, typically working or have family responsibilities and also need this certification to get the better paying jobs they want. Students are earning PIPs (Positive Impact Points) for activities like coming to class, classroom participation, taking practice tests and doing their online homework.

Carrie: How’s the program going?

Pedro: It’s going really well. I get students involved by telling them they have nothing to lose by being part of it, and they will benefit. Now, students are excited to earn PIPs. Their actions are really improving our classroom culture, people are talking more in class which is terrific. Students like the rewards. We have one student who told me he took a practice test so he could earn PIPs that he can redeem to get a GED test voucher. Another student told me he’s using his PIPs to get gas gift cards which helps him get to school.

Carrie: What do you think about incentives? People ask me if they really work.

Pedro: Our world is organized around incentives. For our students, they are already motivated and PIPs Rewards gives them an extra push and a nice recognition of what they are accomplishing.

Carrie: Would you recommend other organizations consider PIPs Rewards?

Pedro: Yes, I’d recommend it, this is really helping us. We’re here to support students get their GED done as soon as possible so they can go to college or trade school. I see PIPs Rewards helping students progress faster.
